Call for Papers: "Government and Parliamentary Libraries as Innovators: Supporting Communities of Practice"

The Government Libraries and Library and Research Services for Parliaments Sections invite proposals for papers to be presented at a two-hour programme in the next IFLA General Conference to be held on August 2016 in Columbus, Ohio, USA.

The session aims to address the ways that Government agencies and Parliaments with information and research services are leading or facilitating the creation of communities of practice, defined as groups of people – whether, Parliamentarians & Officials, Government Ministers & policy-makers & Civil Servants, librarians or experts – joining-up to solve organizational problems/challenges or tackle specific public issues.

Requiring not only technology but the management of new processes and roles, these communities are able to organize activities or produce deliverables that can support the strategic goals of Government structures and Parliaments.

Complete information—including submission guidelines—is available at the official site of the conference

Let us hear from your professional experiences. The extended deadline for submissions is 8 March 2016.
