The purpose of the Congresso Brasileiro de Biblioteconomia e Documentação (CBBD) is to discuss the state of the art of Library and Information Science and to integrate the professionals of Brazilian libraries of all types: school, public, community, university and specialized. In this sense, in line with IFLA's International Advocacy Program (IAP), which has been conducting workshops around the world to mobilise professionals in advocacy work with the UN Agenda 2030, CBBD has chosen the "United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: how libraries can contribute to the implementation of Agenda 2030" as the central theme of its 27th Brazilian Congress of Librarianship and Documentation.
